BKF Issues Joint Statement Reaffirming Sole WKF Recognition

 

The British Karate Federation has formally notified the World Karate Federation of a joint declaration signed by all four UK Home Nation governing bodies, reaffirming that the BKF is the only WKF‑recognised national karate federation for the United Kingdom.

 

The statement, agreed by the English Karate National Governing Body, Scottish Karate Governing Body, Welsh Karate Governing Body and the Northern Ireland Karate Board, emphasises that no other groups or individuals are authorised to represent UK karate within WKF or EKF structures.

 

It further clarifies that any statements issued by non‑affiliated organisations are not recognised as reflecting the UK’s official position in international karate governance.

 

The notice is signed by representatives of all four Home Nations and endorsed by BKF President Roger Williams.
